Wire Sculpture

This is my wire sculpture of an elephant.  I chose an elephant because they are my favorite animal.  i chose to only put newspaper on the back and ears because you can see more of the shape of the elephant with negative space.  the positive space i colored blue because elephants are a blue greyish color.

Pinch Pot

This pinch pot was hand made and kiln fired. It is covered in a green to black high fire glaze. This piece has textured lines and designs on the outside and the inside. the color gives it sort of an old rusty look which i think adds more texture to it.

Hi I'm Lydia, I picked the name StayInspired because art is my inspiration. I chose ceramics as my elective class because I really enjoy art. I've been taking art classes for 4 years and I really love it. I'm going to post pictures of all my projects in this class to keep track of what I have made and to show you how much i enjoy art and ceramics. I haven't had much practice with ceramics but i think it will be a learning experience,  I mostly focus on drawing and painting. I'm really looking forward to this year and the blog even though I'm not sure really sure what it is always about, but I'll remember to StayInspired.
